Customer insights team goes through a lot. They need to worry about survey forms. Either they get a prompt response or not. As it is much likely their task to know about what are the customer’s preferences? And what they like and dislike. Therefore, they have to devise questionnaires through which they get feedback.
Collecting feedback is not as easy as one think. If you want honest feedback then your survey form should be engaging. Nobody likes to fill a form which is lengthy and boring. Creativity must be shown in order to get maximum responses.
What must a company consider while devising a survey form? Here is the list of facts that a company should take into an account and evaluate how can you deal with it.
1. 30-40% of the surveys are being done on Mobile phones
If you are in the customer insight team and develop a questionnaire. Open it on your mobile app and fill it in. If you find it easy to fill in then its good otherwise your customers also not gonna fill for you. Make it user-friendly so that everyone can easily understand it.
2. On average, in 8 seconds people get distracted while filling forms
8 seconds, well it’s not a long time to fill a form containing 50 questions. or is it? You need to keep your questionnaires short, precise and to the point. They should not irritate your customers. They must be catchy and attention seeking. Devise your form in such a way that they are dealing with their problems and they want to get them solved.
3. 2% of the consumers care to fill the survey form when asked
If you see the ratio then 2% is nothing when you want a data out of a pool. You will get the results when your survey is based upon at least 60% of your consumers.
For that what you can do? Make a simple survey form. Ask 4-5 questions which are extremely relevant. Tell them in a start that you like them to fill a short survey form. The word ”Short” will make them fill the form.
4. On mobile devices, users are less likely to click the links
If your survey form is crowded with links and ”go next” button then your customer will not fill the form. On mobile phones, people usually avoid it. Whereas, on the desktop, they will click the links to an extent. But, people usually carry their phones all the time so you need to prepare yourself in every manner.
Complete your survey in 2-3 clicks by asking for their experience. You can add a comment section box where you can ask them for reviews and please do not put a limit on the characters.
5. 15% of the click rate increases when text and visuals are responsive and eye-catching
Won’t you click on some link that looks great to your eyes? Definitely, you would. you are getting the responses filled, and putting your great effort in that. Do not ignore the visuals. More the survey is eye-catching, more it will appeal to the customers and more they fill the forms. Less is always more. Try to convey your message with visuals and less text.
