If you have been following our blog, you must already be familiar with the importance of customer reviews. However, what about the credibility of those reviews? Where does that come into play?
Customer review credibility refers to the ranking of the customer leaving your feedback. Why is this necessary? Well, think about it: a customer who has only ever left one negative review will not have the same credibility as somebody who often reviews companies and products and leaves long, constructive feedback. However, without a credibility score, those two reviewers will have the same importance. When a new customer reads the reviews left by those two reviewers, they would not know who has more right or who to believe. After all, customer feedback is based on personal opinions and those can be subjective.
2. How to use Customer Review Credibility?
Therefore, by putting a simple tag next to the reviews name, for example, “Top Reviewer” or “Trusted Expert” or put a little star icon next to their name, you can indicate to other customers that this review has more weight. Alternatively, you can use “Validated Reviewer” when they have connected their social media profiles.
Another option is to display those reviews at the top of your review list so that it is one of the first ones you customer reads. You can also pick the most credible reviews and share them on your website as testimonials or on social media.
Furthermore, you can give the option for other customers to “mark this review as helpful”, which will also provide a ranking of both the reviewer and the review itself.
There are many factors which influence buying behaviour but few are more powerful than real reviews from real customers. By using customer review credibility, you directly increase how trustworthy your company appears and, therefore, your brand image! Customer review credibility is a simple tool to increase your word-of-mouth and your sales!
